Caesars Lake Tahoe

My husband and I have planned a trip to Lake Tahoe in mid December for our second anniversary. I have reservations at Caesars on the South shore and am interested in any feedback that anyone has. We are very interested in gambling and skiing so that is why we chose the south end of the Lake. Also, if there is any feedback on restaurants or activites, that would be great. Thanks!

I have never stayed at Caesars, but have gambled there. It is a nice casino. Our favorite place to stay is Harrah's. We get great rates and the standard rooms are unbelievable. We went the first week of December last year and I just want to warn you that there may not be much snow at that time. We went skiing at Kirkwood and since they were making the snow it was very slick and icy. We still had a wonderful time and if you are planning to do some Sunday football betting, the bar at Caesars is the best place to watch the games. They have many TVs showing different games as well and food and drink specials all day long. We love that bar and go there on Sunday whenever we are in Tahoe.

Thanks for your response. I was trying to decide between Caesars, Harrahs and Harveys, but the price at Caesars was the cheaper of the three so it won I am a little nervous about the snow as well, but due to my husbands work schedule this is the only time we can go, so we are taking the chance. We will definitely check out the bar for football. Thanks again for the advice.

Jodie,

I don't know if money is an issue, but since I never pay full price for anything I have a few tips for you. If you visit the visitors center in Stateline, NV (about 1-2 miles from Caesars) you can get coupons for Two for One buffets at Caesar's. We tried The Roman Buffet's breakfast buffet last time and it was pretty good. Also, there are coupons for $2.99 breakfasts at the Lakeside Inn Casino. We have had breakfast there several times. They had the best oat bran pancakes. I can't recommend too many restaurants as my husband gets serveral comps per stay and we usually eat right there at Harrah's. Their buffet at the Forrest Buffet is pretty good, but pricey on weekends.

Also, I can never get my husband to do it, but there are several places that offer sleigh rides. It would probably be a romantic anniversary treat for you guys - if you can get your husband to do it. Have a wonderful time. We are expecting our first baby in January so we won't be making our now annual trip to Tahoe this year. I'm so jealous!!!!!

Be sure you get a room with a "Roman Tub". It is a round deep tub--two people easily fit in it. It is my favorite thing about the rooms at Caesars.

I have had some very good luck gambling there also!!
