buying fresh fish/shellsish on kauai
Hi,
My boyfriend, who is a chef, and I have rented a condo in princeville from 4/26-5/3 and are look for the best places to buy fish & shellfish, preferably right from the boats. Does anyone have any tips on where the fish comes in and and what times? Thanks!

Hey, you guys coming to our GTG at the Islander on the 27th of May. We're arriving on the 26th also and staying till the 2nd of June. Maybe your boyfriend can cook up some finger food hors d'oeuvres for this wonderful event. I'm bringing the "whine." This should be great fun!!!!

Just returned from Kauai and we bought fresh fish in Hanamaulu near Kapaa- might be too far for you but.. Ara's Sakayana is the best- he only sells you the freshest fish- we also ate at Ara's Sushi bar he owns next door- excellent the best we found!!

There's a fish market at Hanalei Dolphin, on the right as you approach Hanalei from Princeville.

We've had the best luck with really fresh fish at the Hanalei Dolphin Fish Market. Head back behind the restaurant and you'll see a door on the rightthat's pretty clearly labeled. Not cheap but great quality and often fresh off of the boat. Not too crazy about the restaurant, though.
