Bus/Shuttle JFK to LaGuardia?

Landing at JFK, departing 3 days later from LaGuardia. Trying to rent a car and prices are ridiculous. Cheapest car rental is pick up and drop off at JFK. Is there a shuttle from JFK to La Guardia? If I take a taxi how much would it cost? Gotta be cheaper that one way rentals to 2 airports!!!
Thank.
LL

I know NY Airport Service has a bus that runs between JFK and LaGuardia. I believe Super Shuttle may also be an option. You can find both websites under their respective names. A cab will more than likely run you somewhere in the ballpark of $20 - $25 as they are opposite ends of Queens.

How much time should I allow to land at JFK,get the luggage and then find a taxi to La Guardia? Travel will be on a Sunday in late May. Can I make a LaGuardia flight that departs 2 hours and 15 minutes from the scheduled landing at JFK? I'm told this flight lands on time 80 plus % of the time. Thanks for any help.

llowe248,

What rental car companies have you tried??

In my experience, there is NO dropoff fee between the NY airports! Try contacting the majors directly (Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National).

Hope this helps,
Andre

Sunday n MAy means considerable traffic. Trip can take anywhere from 15 minutes to around 30 tminutes. On a Sunday in May figure on the 30 minutes. Trip is about 10 miles - all on the highway.

Hilda- I think 2 1/2 hours between flights is too close. Depending on terminals, baggage, cabs etc. Any number of time consuming snags about to happen. Sunday nights are extremely busy if that is your time, less busy earlier in the day.

One day when we arrived at LaGuardia for our flight home, the airport was just closing (due to winds). We got another flight almost immediately out of JFK. We were going to take the shuttle bus ($ 22 for the two of us), but had just missed one and decided to splurge and take a taxi. Surprisingly there weas little traffic. The taxi cost us something like $16.50. I gave the guy a 20 and he was happy. So the taxi with tip was $2.00 less than taking the shuttle!!!
