Brown Co used to be quaint- it's pretty touristy in the town now with all the standard "country" gifts, etc. However, scattered among them are some good art galleries, jewelry shops and yes there is a needlework shop. There's a few nice ladies boutiques there- one very nice one next to the winery in the square. There is also a country music venue that has name acts. Many antique shops and galleries are off the surrounding roads. There are a few B&Bs in town, a couple small hotels- but every time we go, we rent a cabin in the woods. Many nice ones there. It gets terribly crowded in the fall on weekends- try going during the week, as the traffic into Nashville can be backed up for an hour!

My favorite- and it's wonderful- is the Artist's Colony Inn. We like to sit on the porch. Here's your link!http://www.artistscolonyinn.com/
