Brown County/Nashville IN

Has anyone been to Brown County/Nashville Indiana? What is there to see/visit? Would it be good for a weekend visit? Any cross stitch or needle work shops?

Brown County is pretty. The people are friendly, if somewhat dull in the typical rural way.

Brown Co used to be quaint- it's pretty touristy in the town now with all the standard "country" gifts, etc. However, scattered among them are some good art galleries, jewelry shops and yes there is a needlework shop. There's a few nice ladies boutiques there- one very nice one next to the winery in the square. There is also a country music venue that has name acts. Many antique shops and galleries are off the surrounding roads. There are a few B&Bs in town, a couple small hotels- but every time we go, we rent a cabin in the woods. Many nice ones there. It gets terribly crowded in the fall on weekends- try going during the week, as the traffic into Nashville can be backed up for an hour!

What's a good place for a nice lunch or dinner?

My favorite- and it's wonderful- is the Artist's Colony Inn. We like to sit on the porch. Here's your link!http://www.artistscolonyinn.com/
