Yes, I was thinking of Myrtle Mae. She was at times conniving and deceitful and at times just willy and clueless. I thought she never got the right tone to her performance. But the other roles were very well acted.

Interesting. It is a horrible role -- but I had heard the girl playing the role was just plain obnoxious. Her understudy was really rather charming about it all --despite her character naturally being spoiled rotten.

End of the Rainbow is very exciting to see mainly for the amazing performance by Tracie Bennett. Until recently the choice was whether to see that or Venus in Fur for the wonderful performance by Nina Arianda. But since Venus in Fur has closed, I'd definitely choose End of the Rainbow if you are interested in great performances by actresses. And discounts are available from Playbill.com, Broadway Box, and all the usual sources.

You probably need to start a new thread but...... last night I saw the first preview of Chaplin and it is wonderful!

I hope it has a long and happy run but I advise you to get tickets soon!
