Breakfast recommendation in NYC
I will be staying around 52nd and 7th and would like a good place for breakfast or brunch on the weekend. I am looking for a good deli type place to get an omelet and bagel, within walking distance.

If you walk up the street you will find the stage deli and the Carnegie deli and you won't have to eat for the rest of the day. There's also a place next to out "tourism information place" and internet bingo game. The name escapes me.

Le Pain Quotidien is an excellent (albeit rather expensive) place for breakfast, but it doesn't offer anything like what the poster is asking for. There's a decent deli on the corner of 55th/7th Avenue, where I sometimes stop to get breakfast on my way to the office. But avoid the expensive salad/food bar.
If you are looking for a sit-down place, Le Pain Quotidien would be great, and it's worth stopping there are least once, especially if you are at all interested in excellent croissants and coffee. Or do it at lunch. I really love the open-face sandwiches.
