2 questions - how much $$$ and how close do want to stay (actually a third - if you have to travel, does it matter which direction - will you be heading somewhere other than col circle afterwords).

If it's the basic greek diner experience you're after (i.e., bacon & eggs, toast, coffee and an attitude) Applejack, on Broadway and 55th is as good as any. Columbus Circle is right up the street from there.

Money is not an issue. Neither is
location. We can walk in any directions
within 20 block range.
Thanks

Norma's inside Le Parker Meridien hotel on 57th Street is a fantastic, all breakfast restaurant. It's not very cheap, but it is delicious and innovative. Check out their menu online http://www.leparkermeridien.com/norma-s.htm

Route 66 on 9th and 54th or 55th, and Cafe Europa are both good breakfasts. For breakfast on the run there's the Bagel Cafe on Broadway and 54th. Sara Beth's is good for more atmosphere, but be warned that there are long lines to get in unless you get there early [certainly well before 10:00]

I second Route 66 on 9th between 55th and 56th. Excellent food, huge portions, a varied menu, and very New York in a good way!
