Breakfast in Key West

Any good breakfast places you'd recommend? Apparently many accomodations offer breakfast - sometimes poolside - but they all look carb filled with fruit and breads - no protein and we have other dietary needs. Please give us an idea of what might be available. Thanks.

We're going to be in Key West soon, but breakfast is included at our hotel. Perhaps this will give you an idea: http://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=brea...Key+West%2C+FL

We usually stay at the Gardens hotel where they offer breakfast, but still like to venture out for breakfast a few times during our stay.

A must! Blue Heaven:

Never been, but the locals always recommend it:

We liked Croissants de France at 816 Duval Street. They also have wonderful take-out pastries, quiches, etc.

We like Camilles. Good omelets and specials.

Blue Heaven as long as you're not sensitive about chickens and their droppings all around you. And do not sit in a chair until you've looked carefully (this advice from personal experience).

You had mentioned dietary needs and carbs.... if you are looking for a health food option, Sugar Apple Natural foods on Simonton Street is a health food store, and they have this wonderful little shop at the back of the store that has smoothies, sandwiches, salads, and lots of vegan options. They are all very friendly.
