Break up Denver > Durango Drive?

Hi -

Driving from Denver to Durango on Labor Day. I know it's a long drive and I'll be missing some good stuff, but I don't have a choice. Planning to be near Gunnison or Montrose around lunch time. Anyone have a good (preferably vegetarian) place to stop on the drive?

Thanks!

Stop at Whole Foods somewhere and have a picnic at Black Canyon of the Gunnison Rim.

There aren't any Whole Foods outside of bigger cities in CO. For sure, none down in the southwest part of the state.

It can still be done, but they would have to settle for local fare/grub, not necessarily a bad thing.

You might as well do the Moki Dugway and Goosenecks of the San Juan while you are in the area. Pretty impressive and just a quick stop is all that is needed there and they are on the way to Natural Bridges if you do it.

I looked at options out of curiousity.

I think the picnic is a good idea.

Other than that, I'd try the brewpub-
http://www.gunnisonbrewery.com/

They have salads and a few other veggie options - and good beer
