Denver to moab

We are driving from denver to moab - I'd like to stop every 2 hours - where do you suggest ? I saw palisade looked inviting but it is 4 hours from denver - we are not big hikers - and are trying to make this as easy as possible. Thank you any and all suggestions are welcome...
We are leaving this Tuesday...

Vail is about two hours from Denver. You can walk through the abetted Ford Alpine Gardens, grab a bite to eat, do some shopping and enjoy the views before going on towards Glenwood Springs which is another hour down the road.

Depending on time of day you two hours will be between Vail and Glenwood Springs. I would push it to Glenwood Canyon as a good stopping point. Short on services but long on scenery.

Day after tomorrow we'll be going through the Glenwood Canyon on the train. I won't have to worry about watching the road. I'll be watching the scenery.

But you can't see the excellent exhibit telling the story of building the road. (sorry for the repetition).

If you want a more interesting ride, when you get into Utah, take exit 214 from I-70 for route 128 to Moab.
