Branson shows/ tour operators

We will be in Branson in Nov. Lodging is taking care of but we are not sure of the best way to secure tickets for the shows. Lots of tour operators are available but we would like some reccomendations on who to use for tickets and transportation to the shows [as we hear traffic is bad to drive own car].Thank You R

I'm not sure about tickets, as we've always just called the theatres when in town (didn't make reservations ahead) but I think I would drive your car. Traffic can be a problem, but not to the point that you would need transportation. Just give yourself ample time. Do you know which shows you'd like to see? I'd call the Branson tourism office and have them send you theatre brochures. Have a great time. Is this your first trip?

It doesn't sound like you have been to Branson before. Definately drive your own car. When you get to town to your hotel they should be able to give you a map which shows many alternate routes that you can take to get off of the main roads. This will help speed things along. I would call ahead and check on the shows you want to see. Depending upon when you are there in November many of the theaters have special Christmas shows that can sell out. Thanksgiving is an especially busy weekend!! Silver Dollar City is an amusement park & they have a special Christmas opening with Christmas shows, and lots of things for sale. The park is lit with millions of lights and they have a giant tree at the entrance that puts on an electronic light show and plays music. There are several lighted Christmas displays through out the area that are very nice if you are interested in that sort of thing. There are several outlet malls for shopping also. We have gone to Branson several years for Christmas and have enjoyed it very much. We have stayed at several different places in and around Branson. If you post where you are staying I will give you my opinion on it if I have stayed there.
Have a great time!

Make sure to see the Duttons' Christmas show. They are a huge, wonderfully talented family with a lot of interaction with the audience. You'll definitely leave with a smile on your face!

Call the theaters directly to purchase tickets. I did that for two shows last fall and not only did I get good seats, the ladies handling the phones were very pleasent.
