Which restaurant is better for my 10 year wedding anniversary? Thanks.

Supposedly, there are more marriage proposals made at Fleur de Lys than any other restaurant in The City. It's much more romantic, IMO. Boulevard can be quite noisy. Food is excellent at both.

I'm with Stu. Boulevard has lovely food, but it would never qualify as romantic. It can be very noisy and it is not very intimate. Fleur de Lys is very much an anniversary/romantic dinner restaurant.

Fleur de Lys wins hands down in the romantic ambience category. It would be my choice. But just to be fair, here are two reasons to skip FdL in favor of Boulevard.

Reason One: FdL is on a busy, anonymous street while Boulevard faces the San Franciso Bay. It offers much better prospects for a romantic post-dinner walk (dress warmly, though - this is San Francisc).

Reason Two: FdL's food is much more fussier and Frenchified than Boulevard's Californian cuisine. I've known it to rub some people the wrong way.

If this were my anniversary, "Frenchified" would be a reason TO dine at FdL.

Well, sure. But as the Brits say, "horses for courses." Neither you nor I are behler23. So what you or I prefer doesn't matter much, does it? That's why I wanted to mention the difference between the two menus.

Bob--How can people go to a restaurant named Fleur de Lys and not expect haute French cuisine (which I presume you mean by "Frenchified")?
