Boston Taxi costs

What is the approximate cost of a taxi between Prudentian Center and the Museum of Science?

Thanks!

It completely depends on city traffic. From the Pru a cab could take Boylston or Huntington down to Charles St., go up around the State House, down to Cambrdige St. to Storrow and finally to the Museum of Science (or go directly to Storrow to the Levitt Circle and then to the Museum of Science OR across the Longfellow Bridge to Mem. Drive to the Museum of Science-Help me Bostonians, there's a million ways to go!), but these are all main, heavily driven streets. My guess would be anywhere from $7 with very light traffic to as much as $20.

I hate to sound like a cynic, but this is also a trip that might find the passenger completely at the mercy of the cabbie....the cheap way vs. the spenny way.

Taking the T would cost $1.25,regardless of the cabbie. Copley to Museum of Science, just 5 stops.

it's a wonderful walk to there along the Charles River. If the weather is nice, why waste cab fare when you can experience us, running , biking, sailing, sun-bathing and you name it.

Someone told me that part of the T is closed along that route.

cigalechanta, the reason for taking the cab is time.

Thanks!

The T is closed beyone North Station, you are right. However the Museum of Science stop is just the next one after NS. Walking from NS isn't probably a 7 minute walk, navigating some construction sites and poor signage.

Where's Anonymous...he/she should weigh in on this...always with correct and helpful info. Anonymous, are you out there? Can you describe to Keith the best way to get to the M of S from the Pru??

Taxi, about $8 - 10 with tip, if traffic isn't tied up on Storrow Drive.

The whole T/shuttle thing is a big pain in the neck, the economical trip would be Green Line to North Station and then walk the rest, under half a mile.

Should be $7-11, depending on route & traffic.

Ask the driver to take Boylston to Berkely, then left on Berkeley to Storrow Drive eastbound.

If Storrow traffic isn't heavy, have driver take Storrow Drive to Levrett Circle lights, then follow signs to McGrath/O'Brien Hwy and Science Museum is 100 yeards ahead on the left.

If Storrow traffic is backed up, have driver take Storrow Dr to Charles circle, then cross the Longfellow (Salt & Pepper) Bridge. Turn onto Mem Dr at the end of Longfellow Bridge, immediately take the U-turn on Mem Drive and follow it (name changes to Land Blvd) past the Sonesta Hotel. Turn right at the first lights after Sonesta, and Science Museum is 50 yeards ahead on the right.
