Boston: Open Studios-Sept 16/17

No, I'm not an artist or an advertiser - just a Boston resident who look forward to this every year and if you are visiting this weekend and love art and want to explore a neighborhood area for a few hours, this is a great weekend to do that - and you can easily walk here from Copley Place and surrounding areas -

Here's a link with the info and time -
if you are in Boston this weekend, it's always a great day - and free - in the South End surrounded by art, great people, wonderful cafes and restaurants - the SOWA open market is also open -

www.southendopenmarket.com

You can get maps of the open studios at the Boston Center for the Arts (Tremont St) as well as other locations, but this is the easiest for most visitors from out of town -or at the open market on 540 Harrison Ave if you start there -

there is a shuttle bus if you aren't a walker ! Really a great treat for visitors to Boston to enjoy a wonderful day in a more 'neighborhood' area with fabulous restaurants and amazing art -

What's the fall sidewalk sale all about? Sounds interesting, I might head down this afternoon.

Boston GTG and art? Bob is the scheduler. This will never happen. Plus Lucy, it's too early in the semester to be visiting a college student. They've just arrived.

Well maybe we'll have to have two gtg's, one for those who are visiting college students and another for those who are not, and who would rather avoid those crowded weekends and do like art
the more gtg's, the more chances that someday there will be one when I am around and can attend !!

The sidewalk sale is the store on Charles Street just putting their sale stuff on tables on the sidewalk. jsut a great street to stroll. I was actually planning on a walk through the new Libery Hotel and I'm going to add Charles on top of it and head over to the South End afterwards. There is also a Globe Book fair in Copley Square.

TKT: I want to get over and check that hotel out - lots of Boston history there and some family stories for me too (to do with relatives professions and not time served in jail - lol

were you there? what do you think?

I got hung up Sunday as usual in the open studios...and still didn't get to them all - I have to remember to dedicate the full two days to this next time.

The Liberty Hotel has a futuristic feel to it. Check it out when you get the chance. It also has two bars, one open til 2 with outdoor seating.
