Border Field State Park
Is this park worth going to? It seems very interesting being right on the border, and the beach seems very uncrowded and secluded. Does anyone have any insiteful tips or information about this park?

O.K. PetHead, as nobody else answered your post, I'll tell you what little I know about Border Field. I was last there about 7 years ago. I recall having to drive winding dirt roads, through an undeveloped flood plain area to get there. As the park sits on the International border, I'm sure it is heavily used by our Latin American friends as the make their way North on foot. The surf fishing was great and the beach was not very crowded; other than that, nothing spectacular. Unless you really want the seclusion, head to nearby Coronado and try Silver Strand Beach or the beach by the Hotel Del Coronado.

i use to work down there and i wouldn't put it on my list of things to do. the silver strand (south of the del) is very nice. if you go past the state beach, you can park in some residential area on the bay side and walk over to the beach. usually have the place to yourself.
