Book of Mormon tickets Chicago/FL Wright tours

Going to be in Chicago September 15 - 18. Would love to see this play - just wondering the best way to get tickets. Know I can do so on ticketmaster but not sure if there is better deal elsewhere.

Also would like to go to oak park and possibly other places to see Wright homes. One of my fellow travelers has knee problems and cannot walk extensively. Any suggestions on tours - know there is one on Saturdays departing from Intercontinental but will not be there that day

Thanks for any suggestions

We saw Book of Mormon in Chicago in April. We paid $117 for 2 tickets, BALCRC, row B, seat 422 and BALCRC, row C, seat 422 and they were great seats. We did sit one in front of the other, because we had a hard time trying to get 2 seats next to each other even though there were 3 empty seats. It kept saying we couldn't leave one empty seat, even though there were clearly single seats available. We were ok with not sitting next to each other, as the views were quite good.

I did look around for other "deals" and none to be found". There is a same day discount ticket office but that could be risky and I don't think Mormon tickets were available there -

Go to www.architecture.org, the Chicago Architecture Foundation's website. They offer two bus tours focusing on Frank Lloyd Wright.

I took the bus tour with CAF a few months ago (that HappyTrvlr has just mentioned.) There is a bit of walking, probably a mile or so.

Book of Mormon is playing its last five weeks in Chicago and has been the hottest ticket in town since at least Christmas. You won't find any discounts, but there appears to be a good selection of seats the dates you'll be here. You can purchase tickets with no Ticketmaster surcharges at the Palace, Oriental or BOA theatre box offices.

In addition to the Architecture Foundation tours, the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust offers tours of the Robie House on the Univ of Chicago campus. There is limited street parking nearby if you'll have a car. You can find complete info at: http://www.gowright.org/visit/robie-house.html.

I received a free ticket to BOM and it was... okay. I love musicals, I really do, but this was just so-so, and the friends I went with felt that same. I was expecting it to be a lot funnier. I thought the South Park episode about Mormonism was far more entertaining, and it's free on youtube. And the best songs from the show ("I believe" and "Hello,") are also on youtube. However, if you're really keen to see it, it's not a bad way to spend the evening. I just don't know how I'd feel paying so much money for that show. Maybe it's because I didn't pay anything that I didn't value it as highly. Buy then, if I'd paid a lot, I would have been bummed.

There WAS a day-of show drawing for 1st row tickets for $25... may work well for your Tue night or Wed afternoon show when there's (perhaps) less competition - but has a high chance of not working, especially at the end of the run), so you'll want to be prepared with a back up plan. Also, I'd probably call the box office direct and ask if the offer is still available and what they think your chances are.

Have fun planning!
