Bonita Springs Restaurants

any recommendations for a couple of good restaurants in this area? We like Italian, seafood, nothing too spicy. Will be staying at the Hyatt - suggestions for golf for a father and son will be appreciated. Thanks

There is a golf course there that is supposedly quite nice. We've eaten at Farfalle, a small Italian restaurant north on 41 a ways. It's in a strip mall but we were VERY pleasantly surprised once inside. Pretty decor and excellent food with a local, well heeled crowd. The concierge recommended it to us and we were not disappointed.

Roy's remains one of the best in the area. Otherwise, it's mainly a lot of chain restaurants. We drove up to Farfalle on the recommendations of others, but it was Sunday night and closed, so I'd take OliveOyl's word on that one.

Also there is now a northern version of Chops, one of my favorites in Naples. I'm not sure exactly where it is, somewhere near the Hyatt, north of Bonita, I believe.

Chops is quite good and is the closest restaurant to your hotel. It is in the office complex at the entrance to the Brooks. Just continue across Coconut at the light at US 41 and turn right into the complex. It is right there. Very popular with the Brooks residents. I also love Roys which is south about two miles or so. It is one of the best of their restaurants and the dining room is great. Lots of golfers finish up here. Just wear a very nice collared shirt and you will be fine for dinner (no lunch).

The Raptor Bay golf course is at your hotel and is spectacular. I would look no further. It is located right on Estero Bay (in a miracle of permitting by the developer) and many of the holes have water views. The course is full of wonderful birds and is challenging. The grill at the course is pretty good, at least for the burgers and salads that I have had there.

The Stillwater Spa is in your hotel and is excellent. One of the better hotel spas around anywhere and very minimalistic and relaxing. It is much better than the Ritz Carlton here. There has been such a proliferation of spas in SW Florida that the Ritz has had a lot of their best hired away. The Stillwater spa is a closer commute for the employees. There are quite a few services for men.

I have a big day ahead and am up early. When I took the dog out it was very cool for here (Fort Myers): about 62 and the air was dry. Great weather for golf. LMF

Thanks - we're only there for 4 nights so the choices sound good. The group has two golfers, one tennis player and one sun worshipper/spa go-er - sounds like the Hyatt will be just fine.
