Bonita Beach Lodgings?

We would like to meet our friends who are staying at the Hyatt Coconut Pointe Resort the weekend of January 27th. Their hotel is out of our price range. Is there a place we can stay nearby that would be nice for about $150.00 per night or less? It is just my husband and me. We are in our early 50's.
Thanks for any help you can give us.

My parents lived not far from there for 25 years. Until the Hyatt was built, the beach was trashy and there was nothing else there. there are some smaller hotels there, but if I were you, I'd choose a small room on Sanibel or in naples and drive to meet them. There's not much at all in Bonita!

Hi Marcia,
I just posted a lengthy trip report from our stay at the Coconut Pointe Hyatt Regency in Bonita Springs and at another resort in Naples. I can't seem to call it up under my screen name(Threehearts), Bonita Springs or the Naples Grande. I'm not sure why. While our hotels are out of your price range, it seems to me that I stayed at a nice Doubletree in Naples in the past and I've twice received the Hyatt in Bonita Springs using Priceline. Both times I bid under $125. You may think about using that site for a nice hotel. Also, from time to time there are specials at the timeshare sister resort of the Hyatt Bonita Springs(just down the street) so it may be worth googling that and seeing what's available. It could be worth a 90 min. visit to the "hospitality suite." Have a lovely time. Threehearts
-By the way, there a lot of good, budget-minded restaurants so don't be put off by the long list of pricey places.

can't believe I forgot this! Every time we'd visit my parents, we'd drive to Vanderbilt Beach and Wiggins Pass which is a nature preserve. The beach is gorgeous, lots of natural vegetation. Plus, they have nice bathroom/shower facilities. Anyway, there is a very nice hotel right on the beach, and it's a lot nicer than Bonita area!

You are close to Naples and lots to do.
