blue man group

Someone out there please help me out. My husband and I are coming to Chicago from Wisconsin on the train in Feb. We are going to see Blue Man Group on 3133 N. Halstead. I have not made hotel reservations yet. Can you please tell me what area this is in? The person that sold me the tickets for the show said that we could take the Red-line. Does it run at 10:30 on Saturday night? I would appreciate any information you can share! Thanks in advance!

The area is called "Lakeview". It's near Wrigleyville. Personally, I would set aside a couple of bucks and just take a cab. Make it a true night out. Have fun!

Dori thanks. The person that I talked to that sold the tickets said it was about 45 minutes from the train station. Is that true? Also, if you're the expert, could you suggest a hotel? We would like to stay on Michigan Ave but I would not like to spend more than $100-$125 for a room. Thanks!

45 minutes from Union Station? Yea, if you're walking. It will be less than 10 minutes cabbing it and around $12.00 for the cab ride. As far as hotels on Michigan, there are so many hotels on Michigan Avenue. For convenience to shopping, etc. just try to stay north of the river. For something a little different, you could stay at a place called "The Willows". a boutique style hotel. It's in a neighborhood on a beautiful residential street with shopping, restaurants, etc. It is located between the Michigan Avenue area the area you will be going for the show. Call information and get the phone number. They are located on Surf Street. They may have a website. Ask when you call. By the way, all of these locatons: Michigan Avenue, Blue Man Group and the Train Station are short cab rides from one another. There are also buses that run up and down Michigan Avenue that leave and return to Union Station (151 Sheridan). The 151 Sheridan will also take you up Michigan Avenue to Surf Street directly from Union Station, if you decide to stay at that hotel, or any hotel for that matter on Michigan Avenue.

You can see maps of hotels at
choosechicago.com

Blue Man Group plays at the theatre at Belmont and Halsted. It is only 10-15 minutes from North Michigan Avenue by cab, depending on traffic. (The bus takes twice as long, of course.) You shouldn't have any trouble booking a hotel room in February. Check the 877chicago.com site, hotrooms.com or individual hotels for last-minute deals.

You can take also the Red Line - it's about 3 blocks away from the theatre. There are some steep stairs. It runs all night.

We saw blue man group and also took the Redline to the theater. It is only three blocks away from the Belmont stop. It is a nice area so i wouldnt be concerned about safety, trains run every 6 minutes at 10:30. Took about 10 minutes if i recall from Grand Ave to get to Belmont.
