coldkelly- It's a wonderful place. Next to the Texas A&M Campus.
(Most people refer to it as "Bryan-College Station"). My daughter, a former attendee at A&M calls Blinn "A&M Junior".
Lots of Aggies take classes at Blinn, mostly the electives and things like English/history. The upperclassmen fill up the A&M classes first, so a lot of freshmen are left with full classes for those. I don't know what the percentage is- but a LOT of Blinn students also attend A&M.
You will love the area. Huge college town. A&M has an enrollment of somewhere around 50k. LARGE and quite beautiful campus.
Do NOT miss attending a football game at Kyle Field (A&M). It is an experience nobody should miss!
(Be prepared to stand for the entire game, though, if you are in student seating- which is about the whole stadium except the end zones.)

Blinn actually has 4 campuses, the main one being in Brenham which is about 50 mi from Bryan/College Station. It's a very nice, small community and is actually known more for the creamery that produces Blue Bell Ice Cream than anything else (and is it good!). There is also a branch in B/CS, which is the one sarge is referring to. Another one is in Schulenburg.
Regardless of which branch you're referring to, overall I agree with sarge's comments.

dfr4848- since the OP referred to Blinn in Bryan, I assumed she knew which campus she was referrin' to.
coldkelly- is your daughter coming from out-of-state?
Her option sounds like a very good one. She will not be alone, trust me!
And no matter what campus she's at, she WILL get addicted to Blue Bell ice cream! (right, dfr4848?)

She's making a good choice - lots of students do that. My friend's daughter was on the A+M waiting list for admissions, so she just started at Blinn and transferred over as a sophomore. She called it 'Blinnergarten'.
Oh, and Blue Bell Poteet Strawberry is to die for...

Sarge, Yes, she will be coming from Wisconsin. She has lots of friends in Texas because she goes to camp there. She loves Texas and says she'll probably never leave there. She was trying to hit me up for a more expensive apartment complex in College Station instead of the one we chose in Bryan, saying her friend told her Bryan isn't that safe. So now I can say, "nice try, Nicole." I'll have 5 daughters in college- 2 in Tampa, 1 in Chicago, 1 in Minneapolis and the one there in Texas.

As Harry Carey would say.. HOLY COW!!! That's a lot of kids in college at one time! And all girls!
I'm from Chicago, originally, and I refuse to move back north, too.
Been in TX for almost 20 years.
(Milwaukee Zoo is still my fave. I've been to many, including the "famous" San Diego Zoo. I still think the Milwaukee Zoo is the best!)
Your daughter will be fine in Bryan.
(If she has friends there already, why aren't they sharing an apt?)
