AuntAnnie-- I know Camp Menogyn!! I used to work at a relatives hardware store in GM in the summers and a lot of Menogyn people came in and picked up things for the camp. A nice bunch of people. A small world. I also know both Rochester (have had some checkups at the Mayo and also have visited friends there) and Owatonna and could live in either city. I do love Mpls. I miss it all the time even tho I do like CA and we have a good life here. Fortunately, we get back often so I am happy and my husband loves it too so that helps. Our only daughter graduated from Pepperdine but did get her Masters at U Of MN so also is a Gopher. She has moved around the country with her huabsnd's job but we see them often and they get out here or meet us in MN or MI (my husband's home state) so that is nice. Hope your birthday was wonderful!!

Combining a few questions here...

My birthday was Monday; Mr. Pickle and I celebrated our 24th anniversary exactly two weeks before.

I would happily travel just about anywhere to celebrate, except Las Vegas - I've been there twice and have no desire to return.

Cali- I feel we are bonded now! Isn't it hard to raise wonderful daughters and then watch them spread their wings and fly? I am so proud of them but miss their spirit and energy in the house immensely. My DH is a great guy, but pretty quiet...not like 2 girls!! The new Guthrie was so FABULOUS!! Love it!! Great views of the river, the flour mills and the stone arch bridge.

Aunt Annie, We will definitely check out the new Guthrie. I was so thrilled when I heard they were building over by the river. I always loved Stone Arch Bridge and the river. Yes, daughters are such fun and it is great to see them achieve all that you had hoped for them. We miss our daughter but are lucky we do get to see them pretty often. One more day before we leave for MN - yippeee!!!

And Lee Ann, you forgot the most important part [SAnParis wants to keep tabs, or I'd never promote such nonsense!;-)], aren't you a CRAB?!?

I'm a Leo, though technically I suppose I'm on the cusp.

And to keep this travel-related, I'm traveling to Santa Fe tomorrow to meet one of my Internet friends and her mom. From there we're traveling to Taos.

Elendilpickle~ my husband is 8/20. Does that make him on the cusp? razzledazzle has not answered my query. Thanks, J.

Cali: Have a great trip home! The hot spell you guys just had is unfortunately here now, so pack accordingly. They are predicting 100 for Sunday/Monday.
If you want to get inside the Guthrie the restaurant is really cool but spendy!! The Level 5 cafe is a nice alternative and you could just have a "small plate" or a dessert and coffee. If you do get downtown check out the new library. I love the inside and locale of the Guthrie, am wowed by the exterior of the library. It is very MN/Scandinavian. I haven't been inside yet....my daughter at the U has been going 2x a week! I also am anxious to see the new MIA addition. Say hi to Gitche Gumee for me. Have safe travels.

Thanks for the info Aunt Annie! We will definitely go to the Guthrie and at least have a bite to eat there. Had not heard about the new library but will check that out too. Have heard the temps will be high even in GM so have packed for the weather. We are getting very excited to get on our way. Will say hi to Gitchu Gummee for you for sure!!

jet, my dear, I've been a bit busy~
Mr R5 had surgery for a cataract
Thursday and I've been shuttling him about for various appointments. An hour this way and then an hour back.
((CheeeeeWaaaaWaaaaaa ! (as kal would say) The traffic on 101 from San Rafael north is A-W-F-U-L-L-L-L.

Oh, and then we had to visit our wine guy this PM~such stress~we needed some good grape....we have some divine and quite reasonable additions to our cellar-uhhhhmmm I mean
closet~

Your hubby is on the cusp, for sure~
yet, what was the question you had that got your estrogen to flee ???

Bottoms up!

silly R5~ it wasn't the question.. it was my Aries impatience(what else is new) of waiting for your expert knowledge, so-eth I could proceed-eth in my life-eth and direction-eth!

Crumbs.. you have a wine cellar? May I come inspect it?

>>>Crumbs.. you have a wine cellar? May I come inspect it?<<<<
But of course, my dear jet
Our "cellar" is actually a strangely placed closet on the 2nd floor. It's behind the bedroom door where,BTW, a jetted spa would have fit quite nicely in the adjacent bath.

(Such a Piscean thing to say)

The benefit of said closet is that it is completely interior-no exterior walls were used in the creation of this "now what do we do with thatspace". It is unusually cool temperature wise. Probably haunted. One can walk into it,
yet it would be unsuitable -space wise-for hanging clothes.

Of course, me being a Pisces it would have been dandy for all my shoes. My
Aquarian husband had the grand plan
for wine storage & suitcases. Seems like a perferct pairing to me !

When shall we expect you ? Are you arriving by bike ?

R5

Better shoes than wine, if you lived in the deep south that is, Razzle. Here you'd have some moldy stinky shoes! ;-)
