Hey Jetset! My youngest son's birthday is August 8th! That reminds me, I've got to go shopping for the little bugger!

Where's Jetset? Did she sneak off for a bite to eat before this reached 100?

I'm a Gemini, early June.

I don't really celebrate my birthday so to speak, but I can tell you my favorite place(s) to celebrate life in general

I love heading to Europe, exploring the neighborhoods of Paris or the small villages of Tuscany, but I also love our country's national parks, my favorites being Yosemite and Grand Tetons (to date. I have yet to hit Utah's Grand Circle!).

Ditto GoTravel - can definitely tell I'm a 'twin'!!

Thanks for all of the bday wishes!!! I think you are never too old to have cake and presents!!! (and I am nearing the big 50)
My DH and oldest DD are hiking so my youngest DD and I have tix to see The Great Gatsby at our NEW Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and will try the NEW Cue Restaurant in the theater for dinner. Should be a great city birthday!!

Cali: Where in MN do you hail from??
Have a good visit back home! It has been hot and humid here...but no triple digits like you are getting there. I talked to my brother in LA last night and he was headed out to the pool to cool off!

Sitka, Petersburg, Valdez.. absolutely breathtaking. My dh and I would love to buy a retirement property in Sitka.. a boater's paradise. Friendly and again, on the transportation routes. Friends in Haines swear it's the best place on earth. Ditto Homer. You need to come and check a few out I guess!
My son's kindergarten teacher moved to Petersburg and built a home. She is a teacher. It is a Norwegian community with the fishing and again, the scenery and location are unbelievable.
Juneau is not to my liking compared with many other parts of Alaska. True, there are a few worthwhile attractions for visitors, but too wet and the change of seasons doesn't change much down there. I have been there and that would be low on the list.
Fairbanks ghas extremes and ice fog, but incredibly nice summers, barring wildfires.. Palmer/Wasilla, growing rapidly, 40 miles from Anchorage..my sister has a friend teaching h.s. English in Anchorage, don't get me started with school district issues up there(private would be the only thing I'd do if raising my kids there)..
I'll help with any more education ?'s and get more imput from friends around the state. I also have a good friend who was a Supt..(from Spokane originally) in the Aleutians that I can look up. Take care, J.

enzian~ I'm here.. had to deal with the state fire marshal for a dh project.. and I have eaten, so I cheated..

Hey.. at least we're keeping this travel related and informative, and I think "it's fun" knowing where some of you like to go and when your b-days are.
No one claimed to have a sibling with the same birthday like me yet. anyone??
One day, I read some Feng Shwei(sp) forecast and was depressed when it only went to 1969. sheesh. J.#39;(

Nah, toss that newspaper jet ~

As a true Pisces, Feb 27th, who used to do "professional" level astrological charts I will tell you that the dates between where the the signs change can be anywhere from the 20th to the 23rd of the month. It always depends on where the sun was during the particular year you were born.

Then, of course there are the "cusp" people. Those born 5 days before and 5 days after the date the signs change.
These folks will have traits from
sign before or after as the case may be.
:-?
Here's a pretty good explanation:

My apologies to Scarlett and anyone else for for confusing the issue.
You are all quite lovely signs to me !

S'AnParis, we share the same date (August 7). I am born on my mother's Bday (can you imagine being in the hospital on your birthday! I was almost born in the parking lot. I guess my birth was similar to the scene in the movie Big Fish.) I too love Paris. Am almost always out of town on my birthday. Was going on Alaskan cruise with Mom, but we decided to bring DH and kids along, so we will be celebrating just east of Destin, FL on the beach. My "dream" trip is 2 weeks in Italy which I have had to book and cancel twice so far. Someday, I WILL get there. Lots of Leos, is there a travel bug with Leos??

I turn 50 on Oct. 31, and have been thinking about where I should go. So, if I only have three or four days, and I want to go where the weather will be nice and the food will be good....where would it be??? I love the mountains, the ocean, the city.....but the end of October limits me with weather....any ideas out there??

razzledazzle~ can I pick your brain? If I'm April 11th, am I on any cusp, or merely cusped at on this board?

laurelee~ I used to have a friend, a sweet Turkish college room mate, who had your birthday.
You must have some Halloween birthday stories to tell.
When I turn 50, I wanna do something fabulous too. A few short years to plan.
Who else has summer birthdays?
In my family, I have O's, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, cept for me!
Hey, do any of you own your birthstone? Mine is a diamond, so I guess I was lucky(that was a good excuse for the weddin' ring, lol).

And laurelee--where would you be coming from for this birthday celebration? Late October can be a very nice time on the California coast, if that's not too far. The food is definitely good there.

No, she won't. She moved all her wine supplies into a fortified basement left from the cold was times, for references see the weather thread.
