Big Island Hilo hotel

Any recommendations for 1-2 night stay in Hilo or near the volcano area?

We stayed at the Country Goose B&B in Volcano and it was GREAT! Joan was a wonderful hostess and the breakfast was excellent. She is also one of the few places that will let you stay for only one day!

I concur! Joan takes excellent care of her guests, not only with an immense gourmet breakfast, but with tons of little extras, like tropical toiletries and a huge selection of dvd/videos. We stayed in the Elua room which was perfect for 3 of us!

The Waterfalls Inn B&B in Hilo gets excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. I'll be staying there in May.

The Rainforest Retreat http://www.volcanoretreat.com/ right in Volcano (Hilo is a 45 min drive). We stayed in the Bamboo Cottege - surronded by rainforest and remarkable NO bugs inside or out.
