Big Island: Four Seasons or Mauna Lani Bay or Mauna Kea Beach Resort

Can you help with choosing between these 3? If we go with the Four Seasons, we will split our stay between them and upscale bed and breakfast inland (holualoa inn)? We are looking for tranquility and beauty. The Mauna Lani Bay has 1 bedroom villas but I could find no pictures. Their resort seems very nice, but I didn't like the decor of the bedrooms from what I could see online.

Aloha and Mahalo and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it.

I feel you can narrow it down to the 4 Seasons and Mauna Kea, and if you would have to split it w/the 4S take the Mauna Kea all the way. Personally I like the Mauna Kea better than the 4S.

We stayed at the Mauna Kea last December and loved the resort.
Intimate and tranquil with a wonderful beach for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing, and lovely surroundings. Staff couldn't have been nicer. We had great meals at all of their restaurants.

What were the Mauna Kea rooms like? One of my good friends loves it and has gone there for years. What is drawing us to the Four Seasons is that it looks less massive, perhaps more Hawaiian. Our first choice would have been Kona Village, but it is closed because of tsunami damage. This trip will be instead of French Polynesia followed by 3 nights in a hotel on --health problems need to keep us closer to American hospitals.

Mauna Kea and 4S have approximately the same number of rooms-258 & 243 respectively. No swimmable beach at the 4S and from what I understand, beach access at KVR next door is currently kapu-you can't even kayak and land on the beach there.
