Between Vegas & Utah Parks
We will be flying into Vegas late in the day and heading to the S. Utah parks. Will we find places to stay a night on I15 between Vegas and St. George or should we just stay in Vegas for the night? I would appreciate any input.

I'd stay in Las Vegas for the night and then leave the next morning, unless:
- you are very short of time for the trip and the extra couple of hours you'd gain the following day by moving on from Vegas the day before would help.
- you really wanted to avoid staying in Vegas for the night for whatever reason.

Las Vegas does have some commute traffic in the morning, so keep that in mind.
There is really only one other place right off of I-15 to stay between Las Vegas and St. George that I know of and that's Mesquite, NV.
Mesquite would be a good choice. It's 80 miles of all interstate & will take about 1 1/2 hours to drive. Lots of Casion Motels because it's right on the border of NV & AZ.
Las Vegas to St. George is only 130 miles and about a 2 hour drive. If this will be the only time you travel between Mequite and St. George, make sure it's not after dark. The Virgin River Gorge is a pretty scenic drive and you won't want to miss it.

There are 4 major casino/hotels to choose from here in Mesquite. The first one is a little more upscale than the others and a little more expensive, but not much, especially on non-weekend nights:
Near the south freeway exit (exit 120) are the Casablanca and the Oasis. Near the north exit (exit 122) are the Virgin River and the Eureka.
All four are clean and well-run. Again, except for the Casablanca, I don't think there's much to choose between the buffets and restaurants.
If you have to be somewhere at a specific time, keep in mind that we are right on the border between the Pacific and Mountain time zones so you'll need to set your watches ahead by an hour as you leave Mesquite northeast bound.
Wave as you go by.

Thanks all. We have 16 days in the area, so if our plane is on time, we will probably have some dinner in Vegas and then drive to Mesquite. That should give us a jump start on the next day. If we finish up with the parks earlier than expected (which is doubtful) we can go to Vegas for a few days at the end of the trip. Watch for the wave dwooddon!
