Hi all - need your advice ...again!
We check out of Clearwater on Friday 5th Jan, but can only check in to our Disney area reosrt on Staurday 6th. Where would you suggest we go for 24 hours with the one nights accomodation. What about Homosassa? Can we swim with manatees? has anyone tried it? Will be "allowed" to book just one night - the Riverside resort there says 2 night minimum on their web site Or up past Blue Springs Park?

Maybe a visit to Tarpon Springs?
http://www.tarponsprings.com/
Cute little "Greek" town known for its history and heritage from Greek sponge divers.
I'm in a rush so I'll add more.
I went to Crystal River to swim with the manatees. Google for more info.

I just checked. They are 57 miles apart. You could do both. A little extra driving but worth considering. Swim with the manatees, then stroll the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs and eat some great food there!

Check out www.sunshinerivertours.com for a cute video of manatees hanging out by the boat's swim ladder. I don't know the vendor, but sounds like a good option for tours.

Agree with starrsville! Tarpon Springs is a nice place to visit for a half-day. I have not been to Crystal River but this might be a good addition too.
Blue Spring State Park <http://www.floridastateparks.org/blu...g/default.cfm> will take you out of your way, but is definitely worth a visit on your way to St. Augustine. Call ahead to see if the manatee are "in".
