Best view from plane while landing in PDX?

Hello,
Which side of the plane should I sit on when landing in PDX, so I can have the best view of the city and landscape below? Landing at 5:00 pm. Thank you!

Depends on the wind, of course, because the landing runway will be into the wind. If they are landing on runway 10, sit on the left side...if they are landing on runway 28, sit on the right side.

The best of any/all views flying into Portland is of Mt. Hood. For that, you should sit on the left side (as you're facing forward). There really aren't any approaches with good city views, regarless of which way the wind is blowing.

Mt Hood will be on the right if you're flying up from the south, but if they go up to PDX and circle back to land it will be on the left.

In other words, sit on either side, as they land differently every time I go there!

I have no memory of what side of the planes we sat on but we always had great views .. from LA to PDX or NY or FL .. The mountain ranges are breathtaking from up there on a clear day !!

Icuy, the view I'm talking about is when the wind's blowing west to east, so planes coming from the south usually fly around the east side of Mt. Hood before turning west to approach PDX. Sometimes they come so close to the mountain you feel as if you could reach out and touch it (if you're seated on the left side). If the wind's blowing the opposite direction, planes from the south fly over the west hills of Portland (with Mt. Hood on the horizon out the right side), and approach PDX from the north/northwest.
