Best Vegas Gambling Venues
Oh I know it's been discussed here before, but I can't seem to find a summary of the local places that the locals go to get the best odds. Blackjack is my game and I know it doesn't vary a lot, but I'll have slots players with me who think the house makes a difference.

My husband always did well at Bally's and Orleans. We had gone to Orleans to see a show and he ended up at a black jack table afterwards, won quite a bit that night
We heard that Binions Horseshoe is the best Poker.
Have fun/Good luck!

It entirely depends on what kind of gambler YOU are and how much you are putting down per hand. When I have others with me that aren't blackjack players...I think the Bellagio is good for slots players (the white gloves are fun!!) and the Hard Rock is great for those just learning blackjack.

Actually, Blackjack does vary a lot casino to casino, even table to table. The best odds are downtown or far-off-strip. After that, $25 players tend to get better odds, Park Place properties tend to have poor odds. Always read the game rules on the table, a lot of strip properties now hit soft 17 for the dealer which is a killer for players. You can get th lowdown here:

There's a better site out there but I can't seem to find it.

For good blackjack, definitely get off that end of the strip, and better yet, go downtown. Of the places on the strip, I've had the best luck at Imperial Palace. Downtown, Horseshoe plays a lot of single-deck blackjack, which is the best for the player.

Blackjack rules vary quite a bit from place to place. Generally, the smaller and less upscale the casino, the more favorable the rules are for the player (which is one way of saying 'go downtown for best odds'). The nicer atmosphere casinos pay for the expensive environment by watering down the rules as much as possible to favor the house.
Slot machines are set by the casinos to have a certain payout percentage. Even within one casino there are significant differences in payout settings on various slots. The big novelty machines have the lowest payouts, along with machines in high traffic areas (like the first ones you pass as you enter the gaming area). Best odds are the higher denomination machines ($1 machines, but not the high roller $100 machines etc) which are in low traffic areas.
If you want to get scientific about it you can look up the average payouts on the various types of slots for each casino in town. The Gambling Commission requires that this info be made public.
So you need not listen to anyone's stories about their aunt Matilda who says cousin JoBob always wins at Sam's Town. Just look up the numbers, then you'll know who pays best. It's usually the smaller casinos well off the strip where locals play. Of course they're usually smoky, dark and smelly, but you have to pick your poison.
