best veal parmesan in new york

I'm taking my mom to new york in december. She loves veal parmesan. Hence, I'm trying to find a great italian restaurant with great veal parmesan. A lot of my first choice restaurants don't serve this.

thanks

What would be your first choices? If we know more about your taste, we may be able to better help you. Most of the really top-notch upscale places will not have this on the menu, although they might make it as a special request.

For such a "traditional" Italian meal, I'd look at some of the spots in Little Italy.

Baldoria in the theater district. I think it is 48th and 9th. Excellent italian, and owned by the son of the famous Rao in the Bronx.

ekscrunchy,

my top italian places are those that i think you are alluding to (i.e. Il Giglio, babbo, felidia, il mulino etc.) I know those are great places, but i really want to take my mom to get one of her favorite classic italian dishes.

i will go on line and check out menu for baldoria.

thanks.

You can get "veal parmesan" at Il Mulino so make yourselves both happy. Or check out Baldoria..the food there is good. The only place I would take my Mom to in Little Italy would be Il Cortile.

I haven't had it in a while, but I love the veal parm. at Trattoria Dell 'Arte. They use a veal chop and pound it very thin so it's hanging over the sides of the plate. Very tender, very large and very tasty. The atmosphere of the place is also fun and the huge plaster body parts (big nose in the window) are memorable. It's across from Carnegie Hall in midtown.
