Best Umbrella for City Walkers
Hi!
I live in NYC and have gone through too many umbrellas that I can count. They invert, metal bits tend to come off, basically, they fall apart.
Any suggestions of a really good umbrella that can withstand a lot and is easy to carry? I want the collapsable type. Lifetime warranty would also be nice.

I have given up on finding the type umbrella you seek because despite the label, they always invert and self destruct - no matter what the cost. Also, I tend to lose them, close them in car doors, lend them to people and never see them again. So I have gone the other route and picked up several much cheaper umbrellas and consider them disposable items - I still find this kind of purchasing and merchandising somewhat offensive, but practical won over for me.

Go online and put "windefyer" in google. No umbrella is perfect, but this one has withstood a lot of wind for me -- and it comes in multiple sizes, including one small enough to carry in the briefcase I carry for work. Good luck.

I received Magellan's catalog a few days ago. They carry a compact, automatic umbrella that they claim won't blow inside out. It sells for $24.95. I plan on ordering one.
