But don't forget about warmal globing and changes in normal weather patterns.

When I lived in San Francisco - I had a Mustang Convertible and had the top down all the time. Heck - we even went dirving to a ski area once in Tahoe with the top down - wearing our goose down parkas with the hoods up. Great fun.

Yes, we wuz a bit crazy.

I think you takes your chances, but just bring along some warm clothes if it's a bit chilly out and enjoy the fresh air.

I would also suggest a day in Carmel/Monterrey area, taking the 17 mile drive, seeing Cannery Row, possibly taking in the great Acquarium, whatnot.

And if you want to slip a day from say Santa Barbara or maybe Solvang, you might enjoy spending a night across the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito - where we enjoyed living for a time way back in the early 70's.

Definitely will stop in Monterey area. Only reason I mentioned Big Sur is that ai havent been in that area so want to spend some time there. I have done Carmel/Monterey before.
I will have to decide whether I want the warmth of July or the clear skies of October. I guess I can always duck inland to the wine valleys for some sun. thanks for all the replies.

Too much time in Cambria. Cut it to one day and use that time somewhere else, like Carmel as Stu Dudley sorta suggested.
