Best Seats for Color Purple
Hello all,
I will be coming to NYC in a few weeks and the only seats that are available for "The Color Purple" on the dates I will be there are in the front mezzanine area. I heard the Broadway theatre was really big, I have been to other broadway shows and sat in mezz seating, however, they were small theatres. Is it really a good view from anywhere in the mezz, or will the cast members be like dots because the theatre is so big. Should I go for the front mezz seats or should I just get ORCHESTRA tickets for another later date? Thanks for your help!

Welcome, acharris. It takes some time getting used to posting here, the norms and glitches. Occasionally, the post does not show up immediately.
We have tickets for TCP. We usually like the front mezzanine for musicals, since you get a good overview of the whole stage. For dramas, we like to be closer. My feeling is that the center front mezzanine should be fine.
You can check out the seating chart on:

and go to 'seating chart'

I think you'll be fine with front mezz. The way the musical is staged, a lot of the action happens front and center. So you'll be able to see, and will have the added benefit of seeing the full scope of the set, which is beautiful.
I saw it from about mid-mezz, and still really enjoyed myself. Go for it!
