Best route from Montreal to Bar Harbor

We're driving Ottawa to Bar Harbor, via Montreal, next week. We decided to stop in St Johnsbury, VT, as it's more or less half way.
From Mtl, we'll take Aut-10 to Aut-55 and cross at Vermont, then take the I-91 down to St Johnsbury. We'll follow Rte 2 across, and pick up I-95 north into Bangor. This is the route that CAA and Mapquest suggested, and a few locals have confirmed it as an interesting and scenic drive.
