Best restaurants to see celebrities

I am going to Los Angeles in the beginning of July. We are staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Any suggestions for restaurants that are popular with celebrities?

Kate Mantilini's. The Ivy. Mr. Chow.

It depends on what kind of "celebrity" you want to see. Can you identify the cast of the Hills? Heidi and Spencer don't hang out at the same places as Carol Burnett and Don Rickles.

Here are some other popular "celeb" spots, although I'm not sure how up to date this is:

When all else fails, I've usually seen someone at the Beverly Center. Or shopping on Robertson.

It is really hit or miss but Cheryl gave you some good ideas. I seem to see some every time I have been at the Beverly Wilshire. Also @ 3rd Street promanade. My Dad saw them at the Ivy when he would go...

Have frequently seen celebrities at the Fairfax Farmers' Market and the food concessions there are wonderful, too.

Farmers Market - the Grove - 3rd St promenade - Rodeo Drive -- and funky places and super markets and just driving. Or check the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce site to see if a sidewalk star is being unveiled. But you can't predict. You could come up empty

Dan Tana's
Teddy's at the Roosevelt
Whole Food's
Langer's deli
Starbucks in West LA
Staples center
Beverly Hills hotel
They are all over and you'll run into them in the weirdest places.
They are shorter in real life.

We've seen celebrities maybe 80% of the times we've had breakfast at Nate 'n Al's. If you subtract Larry King, that figure probably falls to 50%. But hey, the salami and eggs and latkes are pretty good if nothing else.

There is a little breakfast place where we ALWAYS see celebs, but I won't share. Seems like this would be an invasion.
But we usually do see them at Whole Foods, Canter's and Nate and Al's.

It is VERY hit or miss. In addition to the spots mentioned so far, I'll add:

The Polo Lounge at the BH Hotel
e. baldi in Beverly Hills
The Grill in Beverly Hills
Clementine's near the Century City Mall
Starbuck's in Malibu and in Venice

Occasionally in Beverly Hills, the papparazzi suddenly appear in large-ish numbers, just hanging around outside a building (usually a medical building). If you wait around, you'll eventually see who they're after, but it feels like stalking and the photographers are real jerks.

Many pro athletes and a few celebs live in Manhattan Beach, and I see them in everyday places like CVS and Ralph's to restaurants and local events. They're not always recognizable unless, of course, they're nearly 7 feet tall or are still in makeup from filming at the studios nearby.

It sounds like you need to hang out at the Four Seasons Hotel:

Well, I don't make assumptions because there are a lot of psychiatrists in these buildings, too!
