Best restaurant for last night in San Francisco?
Looking for a great romantic restaurant for our last night in San Fran. We will be driving from the Sonoma area and someone had mentioned Spinnakers or Horizons in Sausalito. Any other suggestions? Wanted a last dinner that we would remember! Maybe catch the sun setting! Any ideas would be wonderful! Thanks! We will be spending this last night at a Hotel in Pacific Heights if there is something cool and quaint there.

It's hard to catch the sun setting with our summer, late evening fog. But, for a romantic restaurant (which is inexpensive too!) I highly recommend Khan Toke. (If you like Thai Food) they have an amazing menu sure to please every palate. It's very romantic. They take your shoes at the door, then you are escorted to your table. You sit on the floor on cushions (although most have a cut out floor to put your legs) with ornate carved Thai tables. Small candles and a flower at each table. The food is amazing, and it's a very romantic place. Also, it's very "San Franciscian", so it's not like any other restaurant you could find in anywhere USA. It will be a memorable experience, with outstanding food! It's on Geary, in the Richmond District (between 23rd and 24th ave) When you drive back to the City from Sonoma, over the GG Bridge, continue on and take the 19th ave exit (the first exit off the bridge) and when you reach Geary (your 4th light) make a right, and it will be about 8 blocks ahead on your left side.
In the same neighbourhood, check out "El Mansour" for middle eastern food. It's on Clement on (I think between 31st and 32nd ave, across from Albertson's grocery store) The food is great, and the atmosphere wonderful. They have a live belly dancer each evening to add to the fun, you can even get up and dance with her. The food is amazing, and is all eaten with your fingers. No untensils. The room is covered in luxurious fabrics, with sofas to sit on, and pillows everywhere. Very special.
These areas are not far from Pacific Heights, just not downtown. They are "very San Franciscian", and both have amazing atmosphere with great food!
Not many restaurants in the PH area. But the ones I mentioned aren't too far from PH. I think you would be happy with either choice. Both are unique, romantic and great food and atmosphere!
Enjoy!

Someone might mention the "Beach Chalet" which is across from Ocean Beach to catch the sun setting. Again, with the fog, it might not be all that great. Also I've been there several times, and the service is TERRIBLE, and the food isn't that good. It's expensive, and VERY NOISY! Not what I would consider "romantic" Just a heads up.
Oh, and at El Mansour, even the ceiling is covered in gorgeous fabric. It's like your're lost in another world and time at either El Mansour or Khan Toke, and the food is great!
Whatever you choose, hope you have a wonderful, romantic time!

Your really take your chances with the "view" in SF,especially during the summer months. You can be absolutely socked in with fog. I'd suggest you gofor great food and good romance. As many have recommended before, check out Quince which is in Pacifc Hgts. Have the concierge make reservations for you NOW!
