Best places to see fall foliage in nyc ?

Because of the dry conditions prior to this month, the foliage not great this year, though you might find some photogenic sights in Central Park.
Actually, the leaves are still turning, thanks to the above-mentioned lack of precipitation earlier this year.
All in all, don't get your hopes up too high.

If I move my head a bit to the left, I can see the Southwest corner of Central Park from my office. Right now, it still looks pretty green.
If you're willing to head a bit north of the city, maybe things are a bit more colorful up near Bear Mountain and West Point.
But, I live in the hills west of the city and it's still pretty green where we are despite low tempatures this past week.

Thanks - I've always seen pictures of the foliage in Central Park but don't know where they are taken, any ideas ? We're actually native NYers but usually go away to see the foliage. Staying home this year since we just had a baby- yep it is still pretty green so I know we haven't missed peak yet.
