There's a place on Decatur called Palm Court Jazz Cafe, or something similar. I've not eaten there, but the music is what I would call traditional New Orleans Jazz. I've read that the food is ok.
Crescent City Brew House has live jazz some (maybe all) evenings and serves food. Actually, pretty decent food.

I haven't eaten there in a bit but in the French Market area there is the Gazebo. It usually has music & you eat outdoors so can people watch at the same time. Palm Court is owned by George Buck & he is a jazz collector/record producer from way back. A good place as well. If you want to have a neat experience then do the Natchez riverboat jazz cruise. You can do the lunch one which is less expensive & have light to view the river.
