Best Napali area restaraunt after day hike

If I am staying in Poipu and doing a day hike and/or catamaran trip in Napali, where do you recommend having a nice dinner? Thanks.

Aloha Trey -

Depends on what kind of fare you'd be in the mood for. We like Hanalei Dolphin for great fish in Hanalei; for gourmet food served in an extremely casual atmosphere and that is BYOB, we like Polynesia Cafe, located in the front of the Ching Young Center in Hanalei. Make sure you save room for dessert, if you go there! A lot of people like Zelo's Beach House in Hanalei, but we feel it's become too pricey for just OK food. Pickin' on the north shore are comparatively slim, compared to east and south shores...but either of the two I've recommended are fine choices. Enjoy!

Or stop in Kilauea on your way back and check out the lighthouse. Then have dinner at the Lighthouse Bistro in the Kong Lung Center.

Two more suggestions in Hanalei...

If you're wanting burgers/salads/good "bar food", Hanalei Gourmet -- open from lunch, through dinner (very, very casual)

If you're wanting sushi/fresh fish, Sushi & Blues (upstairs in Ching Young Village) -- dinner-only, starting at 6pm (casual)

Polynesia Cafe has very good food at reasonable prices. You'll be dining outside at Ching Young Center, but the food is quite good. For a more formal atmosphere Cafe Hanalei at the Princeville has excellent food with killer views.

When hubby and I did the hike, we had originally planned to go to Zelo's for dinner. After hiking all day though, we wanted something a little more casual so we went to Hanalei Gourmet. It's not a fancy place by any means, but good for relaxing with a drink and having a burger or salad. I'd go back.
