Best Marriott

My husband and I have a gift certificate to Marriott. Since I am pregnant we wanted one last hurrah and something driveable. Can anyone suggest their favorite in that chain? We want to stay on the east coast, so far the Wentworth in New Hampshire caught our eye...

lauren where are you driving from? What do you enjoy doing?
There are marriotts everywhere for every type of vacation. NY City has a Marriott if you want to see shows and have fine dining. Let us know what it is that you would like for the last hurrah! Oh and congratulations..

NY is an idea...we are from NJ though. I guess something relaxing would be better? Maybe one with a nice spa?

We like the Seaview Resort and Spa in Galloway NJ. Nice place, great golf and spa. Enjoy

Hmmm, we just stayed at the Seaview Resort - needs some serious updating in some of those rooms. Seems they had some water damage - very moldy smelling.

There's also not much to do in the area besides AC.

Never been to the Wentworth, but it does look nice online. When do you plan on taking this trip?

the best marriot i've stayed in was in bridgewater, new jersey (of all places!) it was just an overnight, and i was not expecting anything, but i was just so impressed with everything from the hotel lobby, bar, to the linens! not much doing there, it's mostly corporate business, etc...but i had to mention it. ;-)

Since you mentioned the Wentworth in NH, I'll let you know that it's a wonderful place and I think perfect for a weekend away. It's in a beautiful setting and is minutes from Portsmouth with it's many shops and restaurants. You're also very close to Ogunquit and kennebunkport. I've also heard good things about the spa. Give it a try!

Lauren,

The Wentworth Marriott is a category 6 property. You might check to see if your certificate is good for that level. Most are good only up to a level 4.

Thanks for the tip. How do you know which properties fall under which categories?

Check the Marriott website www.marriott.com for hotel categories.

Boston has a few nice Marriotts. I like the one at Long Wharf (cat.7),no spa but there's a pool.
