NJ: Marriott Seaview Resort
Has anyone stayed at the Marriott Seaview Resort in Galloway/Absecon New Jersey? I am particularly interested in the outdoor pool (we ladies will be lazing while our gentlemen golf).
Any other suggestions for reasonably-priced golf resorts (this one runs about $250 per night for a summer holiday weekend) within the NJ/PA/NY/DE/MD/VA/WV area are greatly appreciated. Although places like the Greenbrier and Homestead look amazing, I can't justify their rates!

While I have not stayed at the marriott, I only live about 15 min. from there and play golf there quite often. There are two courses for the golfers. This is where the "Shoprite LPGA Championship" is held each June ( I do not have exact dates). The pool areas are excellent with both indoor and outdoor pools. There is a "Red Door" Spa and Salon for you ladies looking to be pampered. There is also a fantastic Sunday Brunch!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Sharkeynj!
Can you recommend any upscale/innovative restaurants in the area? Have you heard of Scannichios (in Atlantic City) and Tomatos (in Margate)?
Anything sights nearby that we shouldn't miss? Have you been to the Renault Winery?

Dear fluffnfold,
Yes I have been to Scannichios and Tomatoes in Margate. Both are good choices. Here are some of my other favorites depending on amount you want to spend:
Mojo in Margate $$$
Steve and Cookies in Margate $$$
Cafe 2825 in Atlantic City (better than Scannichios)
Jonathans at the Tuscany House (a part of Renault winery) Egg Harbor $$
Gormet Italian (down Jimmy Leeds Rd. from the Seaview) $
Rifici's in Absecon $$
Forks Inn in Sweetwater (a bit of a drive but worth it) $$-$$$
These are closest to the Marriott. If you want others e-mail me at: [email protected]
As far as attractions naturally there are the casinos if you are into that sort of stuff, but they are NOTHING like las vegas. There is Smithville, and old shopping village dating to 1787, there is the Noyes Museum for art and regional artifacts. There may be many other things depending on WHEN you will be here let me know and I will keep you posted.
