Best hikes between Charlottesville and Roanoke
I will be driving from Charlottesville to Roanoke on Friday (10/8) and have about eight hours before I need to be somewhere in Roanoke. Am looking for one or two hikes to take during that time. Any suggestions on favorites? I'm young and in good shape, so any difficulty should be fine.

I am not sure if you are asking about hiking around the Roanoke area. If yes, you can go to the nearby Appalachian trail. Beautiful! If no, you can take the scenic drive from Charlottesville to Roanoke, via blue ridge parkway, with plenty of places to hike along the way.
I am not sure whether this was helpful, but let me know if you need more specific info.

Thanks, yannis and emalloy! I think I'm going to do Humpback Rock, near Cville, which I did several years ago and loved. That one is short, so I'm considering a couple that are closer to Roanoke (Apple Orchards Falls, Fallingwater Cascades, and Flat Top). Any feedback on any of those?
I may end up just driving down the parkway until I see something that looks interesting
Just wanted to have some options, though!
