Best Car Rental Deal ~ Christmas ~ Ft. Myers?

Looking to share info:

Just thought I'd ask if anyone has a good lead on a 2-week car rental at Ft. Myers airport. I plan on doing my own checking at various websites, and will be happy to post my results if anyone needs what I find. Have you already looked into anything (Priceline, 11th Hour, etc.)?

Happy Trails,
Paul

Hi Paul, Welcome to my home town. The rates in Florida are pretty good. Just keep checking the sites and you'll come across a good deal. Book the best deal you see, you can always change it up to the last minute. That's when I check Priceline, about 2 days before I am going to leave. Seem to get the best price that way. But, get some great prices via the car rental sites too.

book NOW and GOOD LUCK, you'll need it! Florida is notoriously high over school-break periods.

Try Alamo and try using "Rate Code YQ". They're currently showing a special on a standard size car.

As promised, I am reporting back in regards to my rental car agreement in Ft. Myers. {Thanks Duane and Jill for your suggestions.} I went to several websites of both the car company's and the discounters. I tried using my Entertainment Book for discounts as well. I ended up reserving through Priceline, and saved myself $135 over the best deal for an economy car for two weeks. This will work out perfect as I will be driving solo and really only needed some basic transportation. I was accepted for $45/day, plus taxes. Expensive, but it is the Christmas/New Year holiday - peak time.

Happy Trails,
Paul

Nice to know that Priceline is a good bet for car rentals - I just used it for a hotel room over Thanksgiving and it seems like I got a pretty good deal for Chicago.
