My favorite is the Paris Buffet. I've eaten at Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Caesar's, MGM and I like Paris best.

Buffets suck...why not go to a reasonable restaurant and order what you want...just my opinion. It will be hot and made to order. There are many reasonable restaurants where you can get what you really want without waiting in lines or getting mass=made food. Craig

Most Buffets do suck but compared to the ones I have been to, Vegas Buffets are a far cry from horrible.

I thought the Rio was good, lots of selections. I have heard from a lot of people (on here and in person) that the Rio has gone downhill though. We also did the Dinner Buffet at the Aladdin and it was pretty good. I liked their mediteranean/middle eastern food. And they had a great selection of deserts, including choc covered strawberries! Will have to try Bellagio next time.

Craig, the reason you don't appreciate buffets is because you're probably not an overweight two fisted Big Mac pounding coronary artery choking American statistic, like most people who love buffets.
It's all about quantity. Food by the pound.
And hey, if the food has fancy sounding names and stuff, then being a buffet lover can even appear to be a classy thing.
62% of Americans are overweight.
That's why buffets are popular.

Richard, I am 100 pounds and a size 4. I ate the salads, fish, grilled vegatables, etc.at the buffets. maybe you are the overweight statistic, and are just too embarrased to be seen there. Ya think??? ( By the way, I never tasted a Big Mac in my life)

Hi Traveller!

Glad you posted this thread. We are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and are looking forward to trying out some of the buffets.
Personally I like buffets not to gorge myself but as a way to sample different foods.

Yeah, have fun sampling all the bacteria ridden food from the buffet.

Of the higher-end buffets ($22 avg dinner) I'd say Paris, Bellagio and Aladdin are all okay.

Of the more moderate buffets, Sam's Town, Orleans, Gold Coast (newly remodeled) and Golden Nugget (downtown) are probably among the best.

The buffets don't seem to be very consistent. One month they're great, next month terrible. Even time of day matters. Get there about an hour after opening time and the food's usually the best. Too early and you're getting yesterday's leftovers. Too late and everything's cold and picked-over.

A group of 4 can do better at a build-your-own buffet at places like Cheesecake Factory (Caesars Palace) or Grand Luxe Cafe (Venetian) or Wolfgang Puck Cafe (MGM). Share a few appetizers and a couple of entrees, then order some decadent desserts and pass them around.

Sharing is popular in Vegas, don't hesitate or feel awkward. Just ask for extra plates!

I can't imagine paying $32 for all the overcooked steam table food I can cram down my throat no matter how "good" you say this is. For $32 in Las Vegas you can get some really good prepared to order food that is served to you in style. Anyone who goes to these buffets for that price is just interested in quantity not quality. That's fine if you aren't a lover of GOOD food, just like to get stuffed.
