Berkshires: day spa that is not ridiculously expensive?

My friend and I are doing a girlfriend getaway to the Berkshires the last week in June. We want to do a spa one day but shudder at the prices for many of them. Are there any worth going to that will not be ridiculously expensive? Thanks.

It might be helpful to post a dollar number of what you would be willing to pay. "Ridiculously expensive" doesn't mean the same thing to all people.

Good point. I live in the DC area, which is not a cheap place. A typical one-hour facial is $100 to $125 and a typical one-hour massage is $90 to $100. Will I be able to get these services somewhere at a day spa in the Berkshires for the same price range? If so, where do you recommend?

There is one in Lenox that I cannot remember the name of , you might want to google spa in Lenox and see what you get.

I am sitting here with a Berk. County phonebook yellow pages.  I suspect the Lenox spa thatScarlet mentioned is Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires (1-413-637-4100).  It is the one to which ladies in my area usually go for a treat so it can't be outrageously expensive as our salaries are not those of DC.  A couple of years ago we gave a friend in my crowd a 60th birthday gift of a day there and I think the day with all sorts of "doings" was under $150. There are no websites listed, but I imagine you can google them.

Can't give you any personal recs. as spa days are not my thing.  To let you know how much I would hate it, I would rather have a colonoscopy.  At least my health insurance covers most of the cost of that.

Canyon Ranch is fabulous - the spa is excellent - they do take day reservations but those staying get first choice - don't know how it is now, used to be day reservations could only be made a specific number of hours ahead -

www.canyonranch.com

THe other nearby spa is Cranwell - and many of the people who work in the CR Spa, also work here -
so you may want to compare rates , etc

I have stayed at CR many times but never at Cranwell personally - so I can't speak to the spa from experience but my sister in law has gone there and thought it was quite nice and she is fairly picky -
