Beringer Winery - Tunnel of Elms?

I had some of this wine last night and thought it was tasty (chardonnay). I just ordered it because of the enticing name, Tunnel of Elms. Now I googled that name and the tunnel of elms is in front of the Beringer winery in Napa Valley and seems like they are in danger. Anyone know about this and if anything is being done? They were planted in the 1800's.
