Bellagio standard fountain view room OR Mirage Tower Suite?

Now that I'm booked at Bellagio for a low rate of $139 with an upgrade to a fountain view, I found Mirage has a Tower Suite for $179 per nite.
Not a gambler so I can splurge a bit on rooms, and love suites but can't afford one at Bellagio.
Any suggestions?

I can't answer your question, but I can help confuse you further!

Venetian has rooms on limited dates for $129 a night... and I think those are all "mini" suites. You might want to check out this link for more info before you decide:

OH no! Please don't give me another option! lol...i've thought about staying there but I've read too many things about it being so large you get lost..etc.
I would consider the new Tower suites though..but still am needing info on Mirages..but thanks!

I think all of those Las Vegas hotels are so large you can get lost.
Love the Venetian, and would be a good compromise between the Bellagio standard room and the Mirage suite!
But I think I'd go for a regular room at the Bellagio rather than a suite at the Mirage...the Bellagio is a great hotel.
However, I havent seen a Mirage suite.

troyrobt, about this time last year I read a thread here about how great the suites are at the Mirage. I will top it for you if I can find it.

troyrobt, I just topped 2 threads for you...The one titled CA & Vegas trip report has a great description of the suites at The Mirage.

Iceeu, thanks so much for directing me to those threads. Really appreciate. I may change just on that account. Even though bellagio is more elegant than mirage but i rather stay in a suite than smaller room i guess.
thanks so much!

Maybe it would help you decide if you thought about where you would spend the most time, at that end of the Strip where the Mirage and Venetian are or at the other end where the Bellagio and Ceasars/Paris are.
I haven't stayed at the Mirage, but I have found that the Bellagio rooms overlooking the fountains are pretty nice and for that money a bargain!
But we also like to gamble, shop and eat, so it works for us
What a lovely dilemma

I'd go for the Bellagio hands down. There is nothing like looking out over those fountains, particularly at night and hearing the music in you room, backdropped by the Eiffel Tower. Also no comparison in terms of the quality of the property.

If the room is for more than 2 people, than the suite might be a viable choice.

I think that all the rooms at the Bellagio have been "redone" and are lovely with sort of a Zen feel. Bathrooms are tres elegant...and the view is so cool. We loved it and tried to go back there acouple of weeks ago, but it was all booked. It has been awarded AAA 5 diamonds again. Have a great trip.

I may be the only one here who thinks the standard Bellagio rooms are really nothing special but that is my opinion. A friend recently stayed there (we were at the Mirage) and we went over to their room - while it was decent sized it did not say "wow" .. I really expected more. The bathroom was large but not as nicely done as the Aladdin bathroom which had the toilet in it's own area with a door (w/c). The tub at Aladdin was nicer too I thought. I've never had a Tower Suite at the Mirage, just regular rooms so I cannot speak about a suite there. The deal at the Venetian is pretty good, it really depends on what you want in the way of a room tho. I would expect the Suite has more space then a standard room and if you are not going to gamble I'd go for a suite over a standard room anytime. Also - how much time are you going to spend looking at the fountains ? If that's the big issue then go with Bellagio.

I appreciate all the feedback...I did book the Mirage Tower Suite tonight, but I still have the Bellagio booked as well. I guess my true dilemna is the luxury and reputation of the Bellagio over the Mirage. But having a 1100 suite has got to be more of a luxury than a 510 standard room. I guess I can save Bellagio for next year and just book a suite there..for the right price.
Thanks again for everyone's input, and keep them coming!

Bellagio Bellagio IMHO... We had a fountain room on ~Floor 18 ~ GREAT (TV provides the fountain music)... Non Smoking. Lovely to have a glass of champagne sitting by the window Excellent location on the strip, opposite view of the Effel Tower Excellent service while we were there. Turndown service without asking ~ Great cooked Breakfast (Room Service). Also, Olives is my favourite Vegas restaurant. Plus, Bellagio even has a $5 24 Hour Blackjack table for a wimp gambler wife like me... The Mirage always seems to be in a state of construction and with plywood and banging going on!!! Bellagio has a fragrance (literally) and positioning I think is worth it.. Tip... book in as early as you can to get the best rooms for people that have the bargain rooms!!!

i love watching and listening to the fountains so i would definitly choose the belagio. especially for that price. it seems like quite a deal for a fountain view. you can book a suite anywhere, anytime. how many places can you stay at with such an incredible show right outside your window.

troyrobt - I have a whole folder of Mirage pics that may help you decide. If you want them send me an e-mail at [email protected]

Bellagio is defintely more elegant overall but we found the Mirage atmosphere to be more fun and the suite itself was elegant (at least to us). The suite bathroom was fantastic. I'm not sure when your going but the Mirage has a great pool area.

I think I posted a review of the Mirage Tower Suites here but can't remember for sure. We upgraded to a Tower Suite this past January and absolutely loved it. Absolutely gigantic and plenty of room to spread out (or have a party for 25 of your closest friends--). The bathroom was awesome and I'm a true hotel snob. For $179 a night, grab it and don't look back!!!!!!!

Just wanted to update...got back from Mirage, and am so happy that we did stay here! The Tower Suite was BEAUTIFUL! it was better than I thought it would be. The room must of just been redone and there were NO marks of any kind on the furniture or frayed bedding, couches, etc. PERFECT in everyway. The staff was excellent and very accommodating, unlike some other posts. Will definitely stay here next time as we had such a great time.

I would highly recommend this Tower Suite..nothing like 1100 sqft to spread out in!
