bed and breakfast in pacific grove

what's your favorite bed and breakfast in pacific grove or carmel? We are going in February for a 25th anniversary celebration.

Green Gables Inn, part of the 3 Sisters group. We went for our honeymoon 7 years ago. Our room was in the old stable house; huge, with a gas fireplace and separate sitting area. The house is across the street from the ocean so you can imagine the lovely views as you eat breakfast!

Hi blancalita! The B&B's there are supposedly beautiful and first-class. It will be a very romantic way to spend an anniversary. I would like to suggest the White House in the old Hart mansion for dinner if you have yet to choose a place.

We dined there for our 22 anniversary last month and it was excellent. Happy Anniversary!! ***kim***

GREEN GABLE, SEVEN GABLES OR GRANDVIEW are all nice. Great place to eat is FANDANGOS. Was there again last night with 3 other couples. Great meal, very good service. Other places noted at www.pacificgrove.org.

We've also enjoyed The Old Bath House for special occasion dinners. They only place I would steer clear of is The Tinnery. The Whaling Station is also very good for steaks. ***kim***

If you like beautiful Victorian mansions on Monterey bay, you'll love the ones mentioned by Bob above. My favorites in order of preference: Grandview Inn, Green Gables and Seven Gables--all are charming, well-run inns with ocean views and as romantic as you can get. This is Pacific Grove's specialty and they do it well.

Like kimamom, we also had our last anniversary dinner at the White House and also enjoyed it very much.

Check out the websites for these inns to see pictures of the rooms and public areas: Grandview & Seven Gables www.7gables-grandview.com and for Green Gables: www.foursistersinns.com. Enjoy!

The ones mentioned by Bob all face the water. You will be just above the shorepath which is both easy to navigate and beautiful to behold the sites about. You can easily walk to the Monterey Aquarium along that path.
I like PassionFish in Pacific Grove. Although I don't know that you'd find it an anniversary kind of place. I'd check out Bernardus Lodge(Marinus) or Pacifc Edge at the Highlands Inn for a real blow out meal.(After all it's your 25th) I am among the rare and the few who was not crazy (or even impressed) by The White House.

The Pacific's Edge is excellent! We had our 21st anniversary dinner there. Pam, what did you have there? Roy's in Pebble Beach is also a very nice special occasion place for dinner. Hearing the bagpiper at sunset was very romantic!! ***kim***
