Bear Valley - California
My family is trying to plan a trip to the snow for a few days after Christmas...... We do not ski (however, my son would like to maybe try some snowboard lessons). The Tahoe area is booked (and out of our price range). Any suggestions / comments on Bear Valley (especially places to stay)? I know absolutely nothing about it.... I saw a bumper sticker today and thought I would investigate the area a bit. Thanks.

I'm sure abrian means what s/he said -- Bear Valley. It is a resort on hwy Hwy 4 in the central Sierra.
Sorry but I haven't been to Bear Valley in about 15 years so can't really give current info/advice. Is really good for Snowboarding//snowmobiling. There are lots of nice homes and a lodge.
