Bats in Austin, Texas

Is it possible in early/mid April to see bats in Austin under the Congress Avenue Bridge--or is this much too early in the season? I'm going to be traveling to Austin this weekend and will specifically look for the bats if they're going to be out and about.

Here's a resource. It says they start arriving in March/April. The page has a hotline number you can call to get info and approximate time they will emerge from the bridge.

There should be bats in April, most have migrated back to Texas and I think it is before the babies are born. We stayed by the bridge a few years ago in April and they were there.

If you want to see bats I recommend going to Louisville. That is the home of Hillerich and Bradsby which is the company that makes Louisville bats and baseball equipment. You can see the worlds largest bat right outside the door.

Forgive me, I couldn't help myself! ;-)
